The BMW CCA New Mexico Chapter kicked off the year with its 2025 Annual Membership Meeting on January 18, 2025 at The Pizza Barn in Edgewood, NM. The day began with camaraderie at the Sandia BMW Wheels & Coffee event in Albuquerque. Members then embarked on a scenic drive, bypassing I-25 construction by cruising east on Tramway Blvd, along the Sandia Mountains, and reconnecting with Historic Route 66 for the final leg to Edgewood. With clear skies, a few bold drivers even had their BMW Z convertibles open to enjoy the crisp air.

Gathering at The Pizza Barn
The group was treated to delicious pizza courtesy of the Chapter, setting the stage for an engaging meeting led by Chapter President Phil Undercuffler. Phil recapped the exciting events of 2024, highlighting the
September VLA tour, which he called the “most mind-blowing tour ever.” Other notable outings included visits to the
New Mexico Museum of Space History in Alamogordo and a special extended trip in April, where some members continued to Texas to witness the lunar eclipse.
Phil expressed his gratitude to the Chapter Board, recognizing the efforts of Jim Levandoski, Dan Jones, Curtis Holloway, Rob Anthony, plus Scott and Donnette Wagner for their contributions to event planning and execution.

Expanding Opportunities
The Chapter also celebrated the activities organized by the
Borderland group in southern New Mexico and El Paso, led by Bob Storch with support from Richard Massey. Monthly events and quarterly drives have become staples for members in that region. The Chapter is now seeking volunteers to bring similar opportunities to areas such as Santa Fe, Los Alamos, Farmington, and Taos.
Financial Update
The
Treasurer’s report revealed a net positive for 2024, with total income of $1,585, expenses of $1,484, and a year-end balance of $6,759. The Chapter’s monthly allocation from BMW CCA stands at $139, ensuring steady support for future activities.
