On Saturday, August 15, 2020, the New Mexico Chapter of the BMW CCA hosted a COVID safe, Cardinal Point driving tour West of Albuquerque exploring the back-roads to Cuba, NM. Jason Collin, a professional photographer with substantial rural NM real estate photography experience, led the procession. We started out North on US 550 and proceeded West on NM 279 to Power Line Road and the Torreon Mission Road. Jason positioned us for a photo shoot near Cabezon Peak, a prominent volcanic plug in the area. We then took NM 197 to Cuba for a break stop and US 550 South to the Jemez Pueblo Walatowa Center for a socially-distanced picnic. Once again, we had good participation for the event, with twenty people, two dogs and eleven cars including four “M”s, three “Z”s, a beautiful E9 and a cool Chrysler Crossfire!
