Chapter Visit to the Museum of Nuclear Science

Join the BMW Car Club of America New Mexico Chapter on Saturday, February 18, 2023 for a visit to the National Museum of Nuclear Science & History. The museum, a Smithsonian Affiliate, is an enjoyable place to learn the story of the Atomic Age, from early research of nuclear development through today’s peaceful uses of nuclear technology.

We will meet at Sandia BMW Wheels and Coffee, 6001 Pan American Fwy in Albuquerque. Gather inside the dealership at 10:15 am and we will depart at 10:30 am for an early, no-host lunch at the veteran-owned Bombs Away Beer Company near the museum. After lunch, we will trek together to enter the museum as a group with the entrance fee paid by the Chapter. You can download the Museum Map guide which has a detailed floor plan to help you navigate your visit, plus it provides a quick rundown of each exhibition and the nine-acre outdoor exhibit area.

For those of you with children or grandchildren, February 18th is also “Discover STEAM Day” from 10 am to 3 pm at the museum. Families can explore STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics) through experimentation and engaging, hands-on activities directed by local engineers, physicists, and technicians from a variety of organizations.
