Bill Warren, the owner of I Scream Ice Cream, pulled all the stops for the BMW CCA New Mexico Chapter Ice Cream Social on Thursday evening, June 30, 2022. He kept the business open later than normal to maximize parking available to the Chapter. It was a family-friendly event as I Scream Ice Cream is probably the best place in Albuquerque to take kids for ice cream because of the toys, the playful atmosphere, and the wonderful owner.
Many attended and long-time BMW CCA members Sonia Herrera and Dominic Martinez (X5) brought their sons Elijah and Max, Gregg Mich (Z4 M) brought his son Elliot, and Chapter President Phil Undercuffler (2002) brought daughter “Volvo Zoe”. Daniel Flegel brought his father Roger in the Z3 along with Roger’s dog “Pax”, who enjoyed the attention he received. It was good to have Jim and Marilyn Levandoski back from England and Scotland and to see long-time BMW CCA member Joe Lavender who liked the weeknight opportunity to participate in a Chapter event.
There was more to this ice cream shop than the usual toppings and flavors you find elsewhere. There was a sense of wonder and joy, especially with the owner who proudly showed us a picture of his Lotus Europa, but he was a bit coy on its running status. No matter, everyone seemed to have a great time.
