Turnout was good for the BMW Car Club of America New Mexico Chapter annual Clean Car Show on Sunday, May 26, 2024 at the beautiful New Mexico Veterans Memorial Park in Albuquerque. The event included a “People’s Choice” competition and also served as a fundraiser for the New Mexico Veterans Memorial Foundation which oversees functions at the Memorial Welcome Center and assists various veterans groups with their missions. Almost $600 was collected from the participants and donated to the Foundation. Many thanks to all who participated and who gave so generously!

Sandia BMW was the corporate sponsor of the People’s Choice awards, providing very nice cut-glass trophies, thanks to Cameron Berenger-Russell, Sandia BMW’s Marketing Director, who spearheaded the effort. There were 26 BMWs registered, including 10 for the BMW Z Series Corral. There was also a collection of classic “Neue Klasse” cars including a couple 2002’s and a 1600, as well as a late-arriving well-patinaed 733. Many thanks to the Albuquerque BMW Zs and Jim Price for promoting the event!
First Place in the People’s Choice competition went to Dan Jones with his 2006 E85 Z4 3.0si, Second Place went to Brian Moore with his 1973 E9, and Third Place went to Nathan Molina with his 1995 M3. All three winners were also given a Polar Camel Stainless Steel Vacuum Insulated Tumbler with the NM Chapter logo from The NM Chapter Store.
