BMW Master Technician Guada Garcia has garnered quite a following in the local BMW community with many positive comments on social media and word-of-mouth endorsements. Guada works for Independent Vehicle Service (IVS) in Albuquerque where he is their go-to for BMW and Porsche service, diagnosis and repairs. He holds multiple ASE and NAPA Autotech certifications and especially enjoys diagnosing technical issues.

Photo of PHaSR prototypeGuada is originally from Ruidoso, NM and was on the track team in high school where he specialized in hurdles and pole vault. He holds an Associate Degree in Graphic Design and began working in his early career with Boeing’s Laser & Electro-Optical Systems (LEOS) team and Sandia Labs on the Personnel Halting and Stimulation Response Rifle (PHaSR) for the Air Force Directed Energy Directorate at Kirtland Air Force Base. The PHaSR was a prototype non-lethal laser dazzler (“Set phasers to stun” for Trekkies) and Gouda was involved with designing the appearance of the weapon. Fortunately for BMW enthusiasts, he did not pursue a career in directed energy weapons, but followed his passion as an automotive technician.

Guada is married with six children and lives in Albuquerque. Rumor has it that he has a particular soft spot for International Harvester Scouts and Travelalls.
