WABAC Machine cartoonFans of the 1960s cartoon series The Rocky and Bullwinkle Show might remember the recurring feature where the Wayback Machine (WABAC) was used to transport Mr. Peabody and Sherman back in time to visit important events in human history. The machine was invented by Mr. Peabody, a genius, bow tie-wearing beagle, as a birthday gift for his adopted pet boy, Sherman. Since the COVID-19 pandemic lock-down has momentarily stalled our normal chapter activities, imagine Mr. Peabody saying “Sherman, set the Wayback Machine to October 7, 2007 for the NM BMW CCA 2017 Spring Tour.

2007 Karl Fox Memorial Fall Tour

The BMW CCA New Mexico Chapter 2007 Karl Fox Memorial Fall Tour was Sunday, October 7, 2007. The turnout was great! There were 16 BMW’s and about 30 people on a gorgeous tour through the Manzano Mountains.The weather was perfect, and many brought convertibles. We explored the towns of Tijeras, Escabosa, Chililí, Tajique, Torreón, and Manzano before stopping for lunch at the historic Shaffer Hotel in downtown Mountainair. After lunch, we all visited the Quarai at Salinas Pueblo National Monument. Phil Márquez was tourmeister for this great event.
